Movement calibration
precision protocol
Every mechanical and quartz caliber undergoes a 27‑step regulation sequence. Temperature compensation, beat error analysis, and six‑axis timing validation. Only after passing our golden standard does a timepiece earn the Chronelle seal.
━━ regulation trilogy ━━
From raw movement to chronometric mastery
I
Oscillation analysis
Amplitude, beat error, and positional variance measured across 6 orientations. We reject any movement deviating beyond ±5 s/d.
II
Thermal compensation
Simulated wear between 4°C and 38°C. Proprietary mainspring lubrication ensures isochronism under extreme conditions.
III
Final chronometric seal
Each calibre runs for 72h on a winding simulator. COSC‑inspired tolerances, documented and archived per serial number.
The invisible art of regulation
Calibration is not a repair — it's a dialogue between the watchmaker and gravity. Each adjustment to the free-sprung balance wheel alters the soul of the instrument. Our atelier treats calibration as a daily ritual, not a factory step.

━━ inquiries ━━
Calibration knowledge
How often should a Chronelle movement be calibrated?
Every 3–5 years under normal wear. Our service center performs full regulation plus pressure test.
Do quartz movements receive calibration?
Thermal and rate calibration applied to high‑frequency quartz (thermocompensated).
Can I request a specific timing tolerance?
Yes, bespoke regulation available for collectors. Contact our atelier for custom chronometric targets.
What equipment is used?
Witschi Chronoscope S1, timegrapher with high‑resolution microphone array.
